Frankston Units
The Frankston units are a blend of traditional and modern architecture. This project comprises two distinct dwellings on a single lot, each tailored to the specific requirements of its occupants. The existing front dwelling retains its character and identity, with most of its original features preserved, while the rear house is a new modern addition that complements the original structure. The outcome is two beautiful homes that are unique in their own way.
The front house is home to elderly residents who desire familiarity and comfort in their golden years. With sheer respect to the elderly couple, we decided to keep it mostly unchanged, preserving its nostalgic character while adding a subtle yet practical enhancement in the form of a new entry and convenient carport addition. This alteration aims to provide the elderly couple residing with an easily accessible shelter for their vehicle, ensuring their comfort and ease of mobility.
In contrast, the rear unit is a new and modern addition. This two-level home is specifically designed to meet the needs of a growing family. The features and layout are carefully tailored to accommodate modern living. The back unit's unique design seamlessly blends aesthetics and functionality, setting it apart from the original dwelling. The living spaces are located on the ground floor, allowing for more open space and the opportunity to take advantage of a courtyard. The upper floor is designed with three beautifully designed bedrooms, each offering a unique blend of comfort and style. These bedrooms have been meticulously planned to create serene and functional spaces that cater to the needs and tastes of their occupants.
The design presents a beautiful combination of traditional charm and modern conveniences. The two units represent the cohesive architecture that meets the unique and diverse needs of its residents.
