Neasham Drive House
This house serves a dual purpose as both a home and an office with equal focus on both functions. It was important to ensure that each aspect had its distinct identity without overshadowing the other.
The Neasham Drive House was designed with a strong external form and a simple material palette. This house has a prominent skillion roof, making it a noticeable feature from any angle. The beautifully dark textured panel cladding against the soft off-white finish creates a facade with a unique and modern aesthetic.
This House is built on two levels, with each level serving a different purpose and providing flexibility between the family home and an office. The two levels of the house are treated quite distinctly; the lower part of the house is sunk below grade and it is heavily grounded, while the upper floor is soaring up.
The house is compact yet functional, with a modern flow that is perfect for a family home and an everyday office. The lower part has a large garage and a separate office space with its own entry, while on the upper level, the living areas are elevated and provide a functional and modern flow.
Upon entering the house, you are greeted by a grand hallway with high ceilings that takes you to an open plan kitchen, dining and living area. A large corner window overlooks a beautiful garden, creating a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. The living area features a stunning stand-alone fireplace that becomes the focal point of the living area, providing a cozy gathering space for the family.
The Neasham Drive House strikes the perfect balance between functionality and style. The bold external form and beautiful interior layout result in a beautiful home that not only meets the client’s brief but also has a really strong sense of visual identity.
